Esports tournament organiser ESL has announced that Dota 2 tournament ESL One will be held in Bangkok, Thailand at the end of this year.

The event will take place between December 13th – 15th and features a prize pool of $1m (~£764,000).

ESL One Bangkok 2024 is part of the Dota 2 ESL Pro Tour (EPT) and will feature 12 teams competing for the title. Four of these teams will be selected from the aforementioned EPT leaderboard whilst the other eight will enter through qualifiers.

These teams will then compete through a group stage and the playoffs for the lion’s share of its prize pool and more EPT points.

This event will be the second and last ESL One tournament held this year, with the first being held in Birmingham back in April and was won by Team Falcons. The Birmingham event had a peak viewership of 328,345 which closely mirrored the last ESL One event held in the same city.

This is the first time ESL One has been held offline in Thailand, however, it has been held multiple times by its regional neighbour Malaysia. ESL One Bangkok is not the only esports event that will take place in the city this year with the Arena of Valor Premier League 2024 occurring earlier this year.

The tournament will feature an array of sponsors through the ESL FACEIT Group (EFG)’s previous partnerships. This will include, but is not limited to, energy drink company Monster Energy, PC hardware manufacturer Intel and logistics company DHL.

ESL also announced that tickets for ESL One Bangkok will go on sale on December 5th at 18:00 ICT or 12:00 BST.
