In a recent report that collated viewership data from TikTok, it was revealed that Garena Free Fire leads the charge in terms of overall view counts.
This free-to-play battle royale game doesn’t just edge out the competition on TikTok – it decimates it.
Free Fire has such a staggering lead in the pole position on TikTok, it’s unreal. It’s not what you’d expect, given that other, competing games just seem to be more popular by far, but the numbers speak facts, and Free Fire takes the prize.
Per the data, Garena Free Fire is the most popular game on TikTok by a distance of several hundred billion views. It sits at the top of the table with 888 billion views spread over a whopping 87.3 million videos, which is an average view count of around 10,000 views per video. It’s a stunning record and no other game comes close, which seems like quite a surprise when taken at face value.
In second place sits Roblox, the super-creative, diverse title that has seen rampant success over the last decade. It has 595 billion views on TikTok but has far fewer videos uploaded compared to Free Fire with just 66 million sitting on the platform.
The third-place title goes to Fortnite, with 591 billion views and just 60 million videos. The top spots are dominated by battle royale games, with Fortnite, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, PUBG, and Warzone all finding their way into the top fifteen games on TikTok.
It starts to thin out after that point, though.
Esports-focused games like VALORANT, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike 2 aren’t immensely popular on TikTok. Strangely, VALORANT sits above the ‘top three’ esports games by quite a distance, boasting 116 billion views compared to Counter-Strike’s 59.7 billion.
By comparison, Dota 2 has just 24 billion views on TikTok, and Overwatch 2 has fewer views still, sitting at a measly 23.6 billion views.
TikTok’s gaming scene is wholeheartedly dominated by multiplayer games. It’s not common for a single-player-focused title to make it big on TikTok.
Here are some view count examples in that respect:
- God of War – 23.8 billion
- The Last of Us – 22.1 billion
- Red Dead Redemption 2 – 18.2 billion
- GTA: San Andreas – 13.4 billion
- The Sims 4 – 9.9 billion
- Hogwarts Legacy – 7.2 billion
Strangely, the survival version of Free Fire – Free Fire Max – has a slim percentage of the view estate on TikTok, sitting in 66th place overall with just 7.6 billion views.
Finally, in a neat revelation, it’s shown that Fallout is more popular than Starfield on TikTok – as well as every other platform. Despite only being released in September last year, Starfield is being smashed out of line by Fallout 4, which has 3.9 billion views compared to Starfield’s 1.7 billion views.
