Apple fends popular game from App Store due to ‘child abuse’

Indie game The Binding of Isaac is barred by Apple from the App Store, because “children are abused in”.

The Binding of Isaac appeared in 2011 already for Windows, OS X and Linux. An enhanced version is also available for PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The indie game from the creator of the also popular Super Meat Boy is based on the biblical story of the sacrifice of Isaac. ” Players control a child who wants to avoid offering and, therefore must address numerous samples.

“Your app has content or features that show the violence of children, and that is not allowed in the App Store.”

– Apple wrote in his refusal to McMillen.

 It was not yet known that McMillen made an iOS version of The Binding of Isaac. Earlier this week he placed  a picture of the game on an iPad on Twitter.
