Valve has revealed a new game mode platform on Steam, which allows you to play all games with a virtual reality glasses.

The games are projected on a virtual big screen.
The so-called SteamVR Desktop Theater mode is in a test phase and the technique will be shown by Valve next week at the Game Developer Conference.

The mode can be used in any case with the Vive (HTC’s virtual reality glasses), which will be for sale from April.

Game developers have to adapt their games completely if they want to add support for virtual reality. With the glasses, it is intended to look around in the virtual world.

Desktop Theater mode is seen as a middle ground. People can play games with the glasses on, all the glasses are not used optimally. The games do not have to be adapted for the steam function.
